Case Study: Powering Creativity for New Zealand’s Longest-Running Kids Show
Client: Whitebait Media / What Now?
Project: Custom Minecraft PCs for Broadcast and Gameplay
Industry: Television, Entertainment, Education
Solution: Custom-built high-performance PCs themed for What Now?'s Minecraft segments
The Challenge
When Whitebait Media the creative team behind What Now?, New Zealand’s most iconic and longest-running children’s TV show set out to launch a new Minecraft-focused segment, they quickly ran into a technical roadblock. While the content was bursting with imagination, the office laptops they were using couldn’t keep up. Lag, low frame rates, and hardware limitations were getting in the way of delivering smooth gameplay and the high quality production values their audience expected.

To bring the Minecraft universe to life both on-screen and online, the team needed powerful PCs that could handle demanding tasks like gameplay capture, scene transitions, and editing all without breaking immersion. And of course, for a show that thrives on fun and colour, these machines had to look the part too.
The Approach
Computer Lounge stepped in to create two custom-themed Minecraft PCs designed to be both eye catching and powerful enough for smooth gaming, filming, and content creation. These PCs weren’t just built to play; they were crafted to inspire imagination.

We collaborated with the What Now? team to match the vibrant aesthetic of their show, delivering systems that could confidently handle Minecraft gameplay and broadcasting tasks while looking fantastic on camera.
The Build
Each PC was packed with cutting-edge components, striking a balance between performance and visual appeal:
- Motherboard: ASUS PRIME B650M-A WIFI II-CSM mATX
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7500F
- CPU Cooler: Thermaltake TH360 V2 360mm ARGB AIO Liquid CPU Cooler – White
- Memory: TeamGroup T-Force Delta RGB 32GB (DDR5-6000 CL30)
- Storage: Kingston NV3 1TB Gen 4 NVMe SSD
- Graphics: INNO3D GeForce RTX 5070 TWIN X2 OC WHITE 12GB

- Case: Thermaltake The Tower 300 Bubble Pink Edition
- Cooling: Thermaltake SWAFAN EX12 ARGB Magnetic Quick Connect Fan – White Edition
- Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11 Home
These colourful rigs didn’t just look the part, they were also future proofed for content creation, high frame rate gaming, and seamless multitasking.
The Outcome
The result? Two high-performance, Minecraft-themed PCs that now feature in What Now?'s latest episodes. They’ve become part of the show’s energy, helping the team bring their Minecraft world to life for kids across New Zealand.

From pixelated builds to broadcast-quality segments, the systems have enabled smoother gameplay, reduced downtime, and added flair to the on-screen experience.
