A New Look for the Next Chapter of Computer Lounge
Over the last few months, you’ve probably noticed that Computer Lounge looks a little different. We’ve refreshed our logo and visual identity, and while a new look is exciting, I wanted to share the deeper story behind why we’re doing this now.
More Than Just a Coat of Paint
For the past few years, Computer Lounge has been undergoing a massive internal evolution. We’ve moved into a much larger, purpose-built facility, overhauled our internal systems to make our builds more streamlined, and shifted our focus toward a systems-first approach. This means investing in the engineering and testing facility required to ensure every machine we ship is world-class, from top to bottom.
The work we do today is more technical, more precise, and more demanding than it was a decade ago. While it’s true the old branding has served us well for years, it is also true that it no longer reflects the professional methodology within our improved facility. Stagnation begets complacency, after all. As our standards and processes change, the visual language of the trust and respect you hold in us must grow alongside it.
Why the Change Matters to You
A brand is more than just a logo; it’s a promise. It took us many sessions to come to the final design, one that aligns with the way we now build computers:
- Precision-Led: Our new look reflects the exactness required for high-end gaming rigs and enterprise workstations. Like our work, the new logo is sharp and distinct.
- Efficiency: Just as we’ve streamlined our new building and assembly lines to get systems to you faster and more reliably, we’ve cleaned up our visual language to be clearer and easier to distinguish from a distance.
What Hasn’t Changed
While the "Computer Lounge" on your screen or your shipping box looks different, the people behind it haven't changed. We are still the same NZ-owned and operated team of enthusiasts and engineers. We still obsess over cable management, we still stress-test every component, and we still provide the same local support and warranty you’ve come to trust.
Looking Ahead
This refresh gives us a solid foundation for the future. Finally, it allows us to unify the disparate parts of the business that lacked the flair of a single, recognisable icon: our website, our packaging, and the systems themselves are now under this singular point of focus. That’s our mark, and one we’re proud to stamp on all our work.
This isn’t about starting over; it’s about finally showing the world exactly who we’ve become. To our long-term customers who have seen us move from a small shop to our current home, thank you, and may there be many more design steps ahead of us in the years to come.
