How to Choose the Workstation Specs

  • Processor

    Revit is primarily single-threaded in its design, and therefore benefits from processors with a high single-core clock speed over a high core count. This makes Intel's Core i7 and i9 processors excellent choices for 3D modelling in Revit, however, if you are looking to improve your render times, we suggest considering processors with higher core counts.

  • Graphics Card

    The graphics card is responsible for displaying your model on the screen, with high-performance video cards delivering a higher framerate when panning around and zooming in on 3D models. Autodesk recommends that users stick to Nvidia professional-grade RTX A series cards over their GeForce RTX counterparts.

  • Memory

    The amount of memory required to run Revit well well will depend on the complexity of the models that you are working on, however as a general rule-of-thumb we recommend 32GB of RAM for most users, and 64GB+ for users who work with larger models, or are using other, more resource-intensive applications in their workflow.
