How to Choose the Workstation Specs
Processor
The best processors for Pix4D are ones that offer a good balance of clock speed and core count, making processors like the Intel's Core i9 and AMD Ryzen 9 processors excellent choices. When working with larger maps, an AMD Threadripper processor may be more appropriate.
Graphics Card
The Initial Processing, and Point Cloud and Mesh steps will benefit from GPU-accelerated processing from a dedicated graphics card. A mid-range Nvidia RTX video card is all that is required for a seamless experience in Pix4D, will very little improvement seen with higher-end models.
Memory
Pix4D's memory requirements are rather low when compared with other similar software packages. The exact amount of memory required will depend on the number of images, the resolution of the images, and the quality settings in Pix4D. We recommend 32GB for most users, and 64GB for users working on larger projects.
