Processor
Lumion is largely single-threaded in its design, and therefore benefits from a processor with a high single-core clock speed over one with a higher core-count. This makes processors such Intel’s Core i7 and i9 as well as AMD‘s Ryzen 7 and 9 processors a perfect choice. We recommend considering the requirements of other BIM applications often used in the same workflow when choosing a processor for Lumion.

Graphics Card
The graphics card as it is the primary driver of performance in this Lumion. We recommend a high-end Nvidia GeForce RTX graphics card with at least 16GB of VRAM. It may be worth considering other applications that that are used as part of your daily workflow when selecting a graphics card, as while Lumion doesn’t benefit from Nvidia’s professional-grade RTX A-series cards, some other applications favour them over their GeForce RTX counterparts.

Memory
Lumion is able to consider a fair amount of system memory, as models are loaded into RAM before they are handed off to the graphics card to be rendered. We recommend at least 32GB for users working on smaller projects, and 64GB+ for users who are working with larger, and more complex 3D models. If you are running multiple applications simultaneously, consider increasing the memory capacity further.
