Processor
Unreal Engine’s processing requirements will vary depending on your specific workload. We have found that most users using Unreal Editor are extremely happy with the performance that the get out of an Intel Core i7 or i9 processor, however, if you are a heavy user that does a lot of complex lighting calculations, and compiling the engine from source, a high core count processor like AMD’s Ryzen Threadripper processor’s will be significantly faster for these tasks.

A high-end video card will give you a higher framerate in Unreal Editor’s viewport, as well as in-game. Nvidia’s GeForce RTX cards are a popular choice for Unreal Engine workstations, with performance scaling fairly linearly with price. If you are working with multiple displays spanning across a large video wall, Nvidia’s professional-tier RTX cards may be required.
