Workstations for Maxon Cinema 4D

Take your 3D workflow to the next level with a 3D modelling and animation workstation

Cinema 4D: The Benchmark 3D Modelling Tool

Maxons Cinema 4D is widely used for 3D modelling, animation and rendering thanks to its user interface and powerful tools. It is highly regarded in motion graphics, effects (VFX) and game development circles. Both newcomers and seasoned professionals find Cinema 4D appealing for its simplicity and ability to handle complex projects.

How to Choose the Workstation Specs

  • Processor

Modelling and animation within Cinema 4D is largely single-threaded, so clock speed wins over overall core-count in this instance. Intel’s Core i7 and i9, as well as AMD’s Ryzen 7 and 9 processors typically deliver the highest single-core clock speeds. However, when it comes to rendering, Cinema4D and many other applications typically used in the same workflow make good use of high core-count processors, so for a high-end workstation, AMD’s Threadripper processors may be more appropriate.

  • Graphics Card

The performance of the graphics card installed in a Cinema 4D workstation dictates the framerate that the viewport is able to run at, directly impacting the user experience when manipulating a model. Maxon recommends Nvidia’s professional RTX A-series cards for Cinema 4D, however, for the majority of users a mid-range Nvidia GeForce card will be adequate.

  • Memory

The exact amount of RAM required for Cinema 4D will depend on the complexity of the projects that you are working on. We recommend a minimum of 16GB of high-speed DDR5 RAM, with 32GB recommended for most users. For users that frequently perform high-resolution renders, 64GB of RAM may be needed.
